Spice Girls: British singer Melanie C revealed she was sexually assaulted in Turkey in 1997

Spice Girls member, British singer Melaine C, said she was sexually assaulted by a male masseur the day before their 1997 concert in Istanbul.

Speaking on the How To Fail With Elizabeth Day podcast, the British singer said, “I felt vulnerable, vulnerable and embarrassed.” she said.

Melanie C said that when she was sexually assaulted, she immediately got up and left the room, but this left a lasting impression on her.

Speaking about his newly released autobiography, Who I Am, the singer said the following about the attack that took place about 25 years ago:

“It was the eve of the Spice Girls’ first show. I got myself a massage at the hotel. I quickly forgot what had happened to me because I had other things to focus on.”

“I didn’t want to make a fuss, nor did I have time to deal with it. I realized that I had let this incident be buried for years because I wasn’t interested in it, and then it came to me in a dream while I was writing the book. It was on my mind when I woke up.”

I said, “Oh my god, I never even thought it would be in the book.” Then, of course, I had to think, ‘Do I want to explain this,’ and I thought, actually, it’s important for me and for other people to actually say that and finally face it.”

“This situation wasn’t as bad as it could be,” says the singer, describing it as “a mild version of sexual assault.”
