Doctors in Uttar Pradesh, India, removed more than 60 metal spoon handles from a person’s stomach. The 32-year-old patient, whose name has not been released, came to the emergency room at the weekend with severe abdominal pain.

Speaking to the Indian newspaper The National, the doctors said that they thought it was a tumor case, but they encountered a lot of foreign objects in the X-ray and tomography results.
Parts of the patient’s stomach were removed in an operation that took two hours.
“A FIRST IN MY 35 YEARS OF PROFESSIONAL LIFE”
Doctor Rakesh Khurana, who performed the surgery, made the following statement:
“After detailed examination, we realized that these foreign bodies were steel spoons. We were shocked to see so many spoons in his stomach.”
Dr. Khurana, “There were 63 spoons. I have never encountered such a case in my 35 years of professional life” he continued.
