The Zapsu family, one of the most important actors of Turkish politics as well as commercial life. As you know, Cüneyd Zapsu, who established the leading retail stores of Turkey, also undertook important duties in the establishment process of the AK Party. Zapsu, who was a member of the central executive committee of the AK Party between 2001 and 2008, also served as a consultant to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during his prime ministry. Zapsu, who started his business life with the textile company his father founded while he was attending university in Germany, first stepped into hazelnut export with his brother. Zapsu, who founded Balsu Gıda in 1985 and later Teksu, also established the BİM chain of shopping stores in 1995.
They negotiated for sale in March
The most important investment of Zapsu, which then entered the energy business, was the company Solarpower Energy Generation. Founded in 2013, this company has been negotiating sales for a long time. In the news we wrote in March of this year, Güçlü Group, one of the most important manufacturers of textile in Anatolia, wanted to buy the company, which has a capital of 7 million TL. There were even applications made to official institutions. However, that meeting was not completed and a new buyer was sought.
Solarpower under the control of the Zapsu family Energy Negotiations started to purchase all of the shares of Üretim A.Ş. If the agreement is reached, İş Portföy will acquire the shares of Solarpower from the founder and partner of the company, Hasan Cüneyd Zapsu, Mehmet Gökçe Bilyay and CZD Holding A.Ş.
