He returned the book he borrowed from the library after 75 years – Last Minute World News

Bob Jablonski, who lives in Jersey City, New Jersey, USA, brought back the author Oden Rudolph’s book Hitler after 75 years, which he borrowed from the Jersey City Public Library at the age of 14.

Jablonski, who handed over the book he borrowed from the library at the age of 89, said he found the book while cleaning his house.

“HE DOESN’T REMEMBER GETTING THE BOOK”

Stating that there was no wear or damage in the book returned by Jablonski, library officials said, “Staff are very curious about the book and Jablonski’s library experience in 1947. However, they do not remember the details of Jablonski’s visit.”

89-year-old Bob Jablonski handed over the book about Nazi Germany's leader Adolph Hitler, which he borrowed from the library 75 years later.

It was learned that there was a library reference card among the book.

“DON’T BE FEAR OF PAYING THE PENALTY”

“If someone is put in the same situation as Mr. Jablosnki, please don’t be afraid to pay thousands of dollars in fines. Mr. Jablonski brought the book back 70 years later with no debt, and you can do it too,” said Kate Davis Hudson, Deputy Director of the Jersey City Public Library.

The Jersey City Public Library last year abolished the penalty fee charged to readers for overdue books.
