Goalkeeper David De Gea may be on his way to signing a new contract with Manchester United.
According to Goal’s report; The Spain national goalkeeper, who stayed at Manchester United for a long time after his transfer from Atletico Madrid, has entered the final year of his current deal at Old Trafford. However, there may be a 1-year new contract option.
De Gea, who has reached an 11-year career in English football, can be shown as a model of stability.
De Gea spoke to BT Sport in response to questions about his future after United’s 2-1 Premier League win at Everton.
Spanish goalkeeper; “I just focused on helping the team as much as I could. Of course, I would like to be here for many more years, let’s see what happens in the future. I am really happy here.”
The Spanish goalkeeper also responded to the criticism: “It’s part of football. You have to focus, work hard, believe in yourself and your team. That should be all you do. Believe in the coach, the team and yourself.”
David De Gea transferred from Atletico Madrid to United in 2011 and was a key player in the 2012-13 championship-winning squad under Sir Alex Ferguson. The 31-year-old goalkeeper will make his 500th appearance for United in two games.
