CHP waiting to see proposal against Erdogan’s call for a constitution

CHP staff made an assessment regarding President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s response to the party’s law proposal regarding the headscarf with a constitutional call.

The staff said, “We have seen that our citizens have expectations regarding this issue. It was a step taken in the direction of the halal we did,” he said. On the other hand, the staff, who said that they received an insulting response from the government, made the evaluation that “How insincere it seems from here”.

Providing information about the steps the party will take from now on, the staff said, “We do not know what they will bring. We submitted a very simple law proposal regarding the headscarf. We want the subject to be limited here,” he said. Regarding Erdogan’s statement, “Let’s make additional changes that will strengthen our family institution,” party sources said, “We don’t find this right. Because a strong constitution is made by social alliance. We have a constitutional experience with them and they have always been the ones who left the table. Neither the public nor we trust them. We are in favor of the preparation of a strong constitution, in which social alliances are ensured after the elections,” he said. Regarding how the proposal was received within the party, the staff said, “The Chairman has already asked the party, ‘Are you behind me on the road I walk?’ he had asked. The party also showed its support. Nothing has changed in this regard,” he said.
