Binance hacked for $100 million

The target of the cyber attacks this time was Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange.

According to information from Bloomberg, Binance suffered a cyber attack earlier today.

Bloomberg stated that approximately $100 million in Binance Coin (BNB) was stolen from Binance.

After the cyber attack, Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao made a statement on his Twitter account.

Changpeng Zhao said, “The situation has been brought under control. Your money is safe. We apologize for any inconvenience. We will make more updates depending on the situation.” In another tweet, Zhao said the current impact is equivalent to $100 million.

“ALL DEPOSITS AND WITHDRAWALS ARE Frozen”

Also, about two hours before CEO Zhao’s tweet, Binance’s official twitter account shared that BNB Chain was under maintenance, saying, “We apologize for the inconvenience. All deposits and withdrawals through the BNB chain are temporarily suspended until further updates.”

Bloomberg thinks that nearly $2 billion was stolen as a result of cyber attacks on crypto money markets this year, and many attacks were carried out by groups linked to North Korea.
