AllWhen he released his first album “Bir” in 2005, he rose to the top of the music charts with the songs “Olmaz Oğlan” and “Yalan”. Eren Bakici, Cemre Belt, Yasemin Yuruk and Gülçin Ergül, released 4 albums and gained a strong fan base.
But they broke up completely in 2014, some time after Ergül’s departure. Yasemin Yuruk, one of the members, explains how her paths crossed with music as follows:
“I grew up in Istanbul. He spent the summers skating and biking on the Big Island. Then I started playing tennis and swimming. Then I said ‘I’m going to do classical ballet’. My bone and muscle structure was checked, I prepared for the conservatory exams.

In 97, I entered the conservatory, which I won with an aptitude test in secondary school. I never sang until I got an offer to join All.”
Yuruk describes his meeting with Hepsi with these words:
“We first met in 94. I was younger than them. Our upstairs neighbor’s daughter was going to the conservatory, and I met the girls on my way to and from them. Then I went to school too. We all became friends together.
One day, Cemre came to me and said, ‘My mother wants to talk to you about something.’
They told me that they would form a group and asked me if I wanted to work. Before recording, they looked at my voice, to get a singing lesson. It wasn’t my job to have a voice…
I took singing lessons for a year and a half. I recovered after that. Since the vocal cords are a muscle, they can also be trained. My voice color was beautiful and I learned to use it over time. That’s how I got into the All group.”

All members of Hepsi take part in the television series “Hepsi1” in 2007. Yasemin Yuruk describes that period as follows:
“We all acted in the drama together. In fact, we became more familiar with that series. With the series, we started to take place in many households. It had both pros and cons. Of course, there are disadvantages that come with being a group. We could not act alone. We couldn’t do anything on our own. I had to think about the other 3 people. For example, many brands did not want us to be seen in bikinis at that time.”

I realized that we are famous
Yasemin Yuruk says she never imagined they would be this popular:
“I was 14-15 years old then. I had no idea that they would recognize us on the street, that we would become famous. They had dreams that we would go on stage and sing like the Spice Girls. . When I took the first album in my hands, I could not perceive it at first, dream I thought. We gave our first concert in Taksim Square. My hands and feet were shaking. I didn’t even know how to hold the microphone. The costumes were not on us. It’s been 18 years since…”
Yuruk, “How did you know that you were the first celebrity?” gives the following answer to the question:
“We went on the first Butterfly. There was a headline saying ‘Turkey’s Spice Girls have arrived’. After this news, the ballet teachers kicked me out of the classroom. Since ballet lessons are not like normal lessons… They also messed with me a little bit. I don’t want to be misunderstood, but classical ballet is a bit narrow-minded. They are very strict in classes. Ballet teachers have an opinion that doesn’t allow you to do anything different. That’s why I quit and didn’t continue after college. Later, when things started to go well, they started asking ‘should we come to the concert?'”

Yasemin Yuruk is starting to receive coaching trainings in 2015:
“I decided that I like a little more physical stuff and wanted to be a trainer. I trained and became a functional trainer. It took me 5 years to establish the ‘Yasemin Yuruk is a teacher’ situation. Because at the end of the day, I’m an All girl. Being the daughter of all isn’t a bad thing. But all of them are no more. I wanted to exist on my own.”
Walker, “Are there things you regret when you look back?” He answers the question as follows:
“No… I don’t regret anything I’ve done. They all had a reason. My self-awareness has risen. I found what I wanted and didn’t want. Sometimes life has to isolate you so you can learn something.”

In 2009, Gülçin Ergül leaves Hepsi, and in 2014 the group completely disbanded. Yasemin Yuruk expresses the ending of All with these words:
“After Gülçin left, we continued to make music as we wanted. We wanted to do something with Soner Sarıkabadayı. Edis even wrote the song ‘Be Mine’ for us. But it progressed slowly. It was 2014 and we left the group saying ‘let’s not do it anymore’. That song was also Edis’s destiny. It was very nice for her.”
Yuruk, “Have you fallen into a void with the decreasing popularity?” He answers the question as follows:
“I was depressed for 2 years, thinking what to do. I attended the acting workshop of Eren and Yılmaz Erdoğan. We worked there with the ‘Kitchen’ and ‘Very Beautiful Movements’ team. It was nice to be able to move more freely. Even though I’m not a person with a high ego, after all, we were getting a lot of attention for a while. That interest waned. Then I reminded myself that we live a different life. There is nothing to do, life goes on somehow. Living without contracts was an extremely beautiful thing. Since our first contract was for a long time like 6 years, I was ill-fated at that age. Then came the phobia. I do not sign a contract, and if I do, it is a maximum of one year.”

Gulcin’s departure

We can never get rid of the question of why they don’t all converge. We are all on good terms and everyone talks to each other. We didn’t talk to Gülçin for a long time. Then we started talking.
As the ages get older, some things don’t make sense and people believe that there should be no hostility. So there’s no point in being a kid.
Before Gülçin’s departure, I was very offended. I thought, ‘Why did he do such a thing? But it had to be. All of our lives have evolved differently. Everyone is happy with their life right now. Nothing happens without a reason.
They were all very popular. I’m perceiving it now. You will fall so you will get up in this life.
This past year has been tough for me. In terms of relationship, I had to do things on my own at that time. I proceeded by saying, “I got out of there, you can do anything”.
I don’t keep my word
Yasemin Yuruk continues to teach and has returned to music.
The singer sang the song “I’ve fallen into your smile” with producer Selami Bilgiç.
Yuruk, 35, describes the feeling that makes him want to sing again:
“I used to say to my friends, ‘Who is doing what, why am I not doing it’. Then Yasemin Şefik said, ‘Selami has a song, read it’. I hadn’t been singing for 10 years and suddenly I entered the studio. It could have been a door to remind myself. It won’t be just one song. I will continue to sing. I also want to return to acting.”
The singer says she misses the scenes too:
“I miss the stage. The feeling there does not change with anything in life. The fact that everyone is one heart singing your songs or the fact that you touched those people is something else entirely. It is one of the greatest pleasures in my life that I will never change. I’ve never been on stage alone. I already said ‘Where are the girls’ during the clip shoot? But one gets used to everything.”
Yuruk gives the following answer to the question “What kind of Yasemin is in front of us”:
“I keep my word, if they will love me, let them love me. I did not return on a whim. More songs will follow. I’m going to catch up with Generation Z somehow. An acoustic version of the song ‘Down Smile’ will also be released soon.”
