WHO IS MASTERCHEF HAMZA?
Hamza Mercimek was born on November 12, 1996 in Istanbul. After completing his primary and secondary education in Istanbul Ümraniye, Lentil started high school, dropped out of high school due to his love for cuisine and found himself in the kitchen of a hotel in Sultanahmet.
The competitor, who had the chance to get to know the cuisine at the hotel in Sultanahmet, took part in the kitchen of another restaurant in Sultanahmet. Later, thanks to her relative who is the manager of Feriye Restaurant, she switched to this kitchen. Saying that Feriye Restaurant’s kitchen was the first professional kitchen for him, Lentil stated that he gained most of his culinary experience here. The dishes that impressed Lentil, who had the opportunity to improve himself by working in various departments here, were the protocol dishes.
Lentil left here to find a new one, and took on the role of cook for the pasha and the army house at the Erzurum 9th Corps Army Command. After completing his military service, he continued to work in the kitchens of many hotels and restaurants. The competitor managed to become a chef in a kitchen in Ataşehir. Mercimek, who received better offers from different places during the time he worked here, continued his profession by moving to Karaköy.
