Stating that the situation brought by the government to the country is not prosperity, but a quagmire, Başevirgen noted that in 2022, the total loan debt is based on 1.5 billion.

“The dollar exchange rate, which was 3.8 TL in 2018, increased to 18.60 TL in 2022, and the inflation rate, which was 20.3 percent in 2018, reached 80.21 percent in 2022, breaking the highest record in history, and reached 6 million 18 percent in 2018. The number of unemployed people, of which 1,000, was 8 million 500 thousand people in 2022, and the total loan debt of the citizens, which was 537 million TL in 2018, reached 1.5 billion in 2022. The situation this government has brought to the country is not prosperity but a complete quagmire.

“4.1 MILLION PEOPLE CANNOT PAY THEIR DEBT”

While the banking sector has doubled its profitability in the last year under the conditions of the economic crisis, millions of citizens have been blacklisted due to the loan debts they have become unable to pay. One million people became executives this year. 4.1 million people cannot pay their debts. According to the data of the Risk Center, in the January-July period this year, banks took 538 thousand 254 people into legal proceedings for not paying their credit card debts and 659 thousand people for not paying their consumer loan debts on time. As of the end of July, the number of those whose debts continue, among those who were followed up in the previous years, reached 4 million 144 thousand 303 people, with an increase of 500 thousand people compared to the same period of the previous year. There was an increase of 500 thousand people in the number of people in this situation compared to July last year. According to the National Judicial Network (UYAP), a total of 6 million 151 thousand new files came to the enforcement and bankruptcy offices through UYAP in the first 9 months of this year. The number of new incoming files increased by 19.5 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. The number of files pending in enforcement offices has increased by 933 thousand in the last year and reached 23 million 889 thousand as of September 16.”
