In Venice, Italy’s top tourist attraction, the mayor is chasing two idiots surfing the Grand Canal with jetfoilers (motorized surfboards).
Videos of two young men surfing quickly past the gondolas were published on social media.
Mayor Luigi Brugnaro shared one of the videos on his Twitter account, writing: “These are two idiots making fun of our city. I’m asking everyone to help find out who they are and punish them.”
President Brugnaro offered to buy dinner until he found out where they were.
Venice occasionally complains about visitors who exceed its population. Finally, effective as of January 6, 2023, those who want to travel to the city for a day have made a reservation in advance and pay the entrance fee.
