According to the news in the New York Post, an Israel-based biotechnology firm wants to grow human embryos for organ harvesting.
A company called Renewal Bio works to grow organs to facilitate organ transplants and to find solutions to infertility, genetic disease and aging.
FIRST EXPERIMENT WAS SUCCESSFUL
The company announced that it has successfully used advanced stem cell technology and artificial wombs to grow mouse embryos that continue to develop for several days.
According to MIT Technology Review (MTR), the company wants to create ‘synthetic’ human embryos in this context. According to MTR, the embryos managed to survive until they developed beating hearts, blood flow, and the beginning of a brain.

Scientists underline that a ‘synthetic’ embryo was not created without the use of sperm, eggs or a uterus, and it is the first time that it has been preserved to such an advanced stage.
Israel-based firm Renewal Bio has published the results of its experiment in the journal Cell.
THE TARGET IS TO APPLY THE SAME TECHNOLOGY IN HUMAN EMBRYO
Jacob Hanna, a researcher at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel and founder of Renewal Bio, announced that they aim to apply the same technology to human embryos.
“The embryo is the best organ-making machine and the best 3D bioprinter,” said Hanna, emphasizing that the process could help to better understand organ formation at the earliest stages.
‘We’re really excited about this study and its results,’ says Hanna. The company summarizes its mission as ‘slowing down the aging of society by increasing falling birth rates’.
The company’s mission statement states that “Renewal Bio aims to make humanity younger and healthier by leveraging the power of new stem cell technology”.
