The deceased woman answered questions at her funeral with artificial intelligence

WALL – A woman named Marina Smith, who died last month in England, appeared to be speaking at her own funeral thanks to the combination of her voice recorded before her death with a hologram developed with artificial intelligence technology.

According to the news in the BBC, Holocaust activist Smith, who died in the city of Nothingham on July 29, was made to appear as if he was answering the questions of his family members at his own funeral, thanks to the artificial intelligence-supported hologram developed by his son’s company.

According to AA, his son, Dr. Stephen Smith said that thanks to the new technology they developed, his mother was able to “answer questions about his life at his own funeral.”

Co-founder of Los Angeles-based artificial intelligence company StoryFile, Dr. Smith stated that the developed technology can make it appear as if a person is speaking, thanks to a hologram, after he dies.

Smith noted that the words his mother used at the funeral were his own and were not developed by artificial intelligence.

HOW DOES THE SYSTEM WORK?

The person to be hologram is asked to answer possible questions that his friends and family members may ask while he is still alive, and the answers are recorded.

The data processed through artificial intelligence is uploaded to the StoryFile platform, where the hologram can communicate simultaneously. The person seems to be answering questions from those who later attended the funeral through artificial intelligence.

StoryFile was established in 2017 to convey the life stories of Holocaust survivors and historical figures. (NEWS CENTER)
