Record increase in producer prices – Business-Life News

TURKSTAT announced the Agricultural Products Producer Price Index (Agriculture-PPI) realizations for July.

Accordingly, there was an increase of 5 percent in agriculture-PPI in July compared to the previous month, 108.78 percent compared to December of the previous year, and 157.89 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.

EXCEEDED 157 PERCENT

The 157.89 percent increase in July was the highest annual increase on record.

Looking at the sectors, there was a 2.66 percent decrease in forestry products and related services, a 4.78 percent increase in agricultural and hunting products and related services, and a 25.09 percent increase in fish and other fishery products, compared to the previous month.

256 percent jump in fiber plants

According to TUIK data, the subgroups with low annual increase are sheep and goats, livestock with 74.57 percent, respectively; their unprocessed milk and fleece and other farm animals and animal products with 75.65 percent. On the other hand, the subgroups with the highest annual increase were listed as fibrous plants with 256.06 percent and cereals (excluding rice), legumes and oil seeds with 201.62 percent, respectively.
