Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Enock Mwepu ended his football career due to heart disease.
Enock made the following statements about his illness:
The young actor said in a statement; “I have reached my highest goal for football. Thank goodness I went to Premier League games. But I’m sorry to say that some dreams have to come to an end. Due to my illness and the medical advice I received was to quit football. That doesn’t mean I’m cutting football completely out of my life. I will always stick to football. Thank you to everyone who gave me this opportunity and supported me. I am grateful to my family, my wife, my manager, my coach and Brighton & Hove Albion, everyone.”

Brighton made a statement on Enock’s medical condition on its official website: “Due to hereditary heart disease, Enock’s involvement in competitive football could put him to a deadly point. That’s why Enock had to say goodbye to his career. As a club we will give him all our support and help to recover. “
Coach Roberto De Zerbi said: “I’m so sorry for Enock. Enock was a player I was very excited about and looked forward to working with. We will do everything we can to help him.” he expressed his sadness.
Enock Mwepu transferred from Red bull Salzburg to Brighton in June 2021. The Zambian player’s contract with Brighton was for 4 years.
