About the life of Princess Diana ‘Queen of the People’s Hearts’ The (Queen of Hearts) musical team came to Istanbul. The musical will meet with art lovers at Zorlu Performing Arts Center on 13-14 August.
Turkish mezzo soprano Lori Şen plays Lady Diana in the musical, which was brought to life by Washington National Opera artists and premiered in the USA. The musical, which is planned to be staged in Europe after the Turkey tour, as well as actors Şen, Spencer Adamson, producer and composer Dr. Angela Knight and producer Gürkan Us, who toured Turkey, came together with the press.
According to AA; Playing Diana, Şen stated that the musical focuses on the entire life of the British princess, from meeting Prince Charles to her confrontation with the Queen.
Preparations started in 2019
Stating that they started the preparations for the play in 2019, but had to postpone the work due to the epidemic, Şen says that they came to Turkey after the premiere in the USA last year: “Of course, it’s very exciting to play someone so well-known in the world. It was a pleasure working with Princess Diana. As I got to know him, I understood why he was so loved. Working with him increased my respect for him even more. It is a great honor to portray such a character.”
Producer Gürkan Us, on the other hand, stated that the musical will meet with the audience throughout Turkey after the 13-14 August Istanbul performances, adding that they will continue with a tour of England, Germany and Italy after Turkey.
Over 4,000 spectators are targeted in the two days the musical will be staged.
