Protests flare up again in Iran

After a few quiet days in Iran, the Mahsa Amini protests that started during the day continued until late at night.

Tehran Pars region, which is known as the region where conservatives live in the capital, was the scene of demonstrations. The demonstrators burned garbage containers, blocked the road to traffic and chanted slogans.

In the images reflected on social media, it was noted that there was intense participation in the action in the Naziabad region of Tehran. While the security forces intervened in previous demonstrations, it was seen that a large group did not encounter any intervention in this demonstration.

While protesters lit fire and shouted anti-government slogans in Azeri Üçyolu, the front of the metro station on Shariati Street, where demonstrations are held almost every day, became the scene of action again.

The demonstrators burned government banners on Ebuzer Boulevard, set up garbage containers and barricades on the streets in many parts of the city and set fires in some places.

While demonstrations in many cities of the country, especially Tehran, continued until late at night, protests at universities continued.

On the other hand, in the news of the Iranian official agency IRNA, it was reported that Basic member Salman Emir Ahmadi, known as the civilian militia force, was wounded in the head and died in the clash that broke out in the 17th district of Tehran.

In the capital, Tehran, where extensive security measures were taken, street protests had been replaced by demonstrations in universities and high schools in recent days. However, the protesters’ calls to take to the squares again today were answered and the demonstrations started again at noon.

Protesters took to the streets around Tehran’s Veliasr, Cumhuri, Sharif Metro and Kesaverz streets, Danışcu Park and Revolution Square.

In the images released, it was also seen that the security forces, who intervened with tear gas and batons, used rubber bullets against the groups chanting anti-government slogans.
