President Erdogan: ‘We cannot turn our backs on our neighbors’

President of the AKP, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, spoke at the Graduation Ceremony of the Gendarmerie and Coast Guard Academy Officer and NCO Students. In Erdogan’s speech, “We cannot turn our backs on our neighbors. This is against our law of neighborliness and brotherhood. said.

Highlights from Erdogan’s statements:

“Hopefully, these students will both serve their communities and contribute to the development of their relations. I would like to thank them on behalf of myself and my nation. We graduated 23 thousand 546 children, 33 of whom were international students, from our gendarmerie coast guard academy, which was founded in 2016. Happy graduation today. Like their predecessors, every living student received an education in one of Turkey’s most popular educational institutions.

I attach great importance to the training received in this academy, which trains the future commanders of our gendarmerie and coast guard organizations. I consider it of vital importance for the well-being of our nation, as well as the survival of our homeland, that the young people here are brought up in the most qualified manner.

Turkey, located at the intersection of 3 continents, has a geographically high strategic importance. Every event that takes place in a wide region stretching from Asia to Africa, from the Caucasus to Europe directly affects us.

Undoubtedly, our country has felt the negative effects of the internal turmoil in Afghanistan for 40 years, the sibling rivalry in Libya, the oppression and attacks that have continued for 11 years in Syria, and the hunger and poverty that cost hundreds of thousands of lives in Africa every year. Our homeland is Turkey. All the peoples of this region are brothers to each other.

“WE CAN’T TURN BACK ON OUR NEIGHBORS”

We cannot turn our backs on our neighbors. This is against our law of neighborliness and brotherhood. We are not hostile to anyone or any country. On the contrary, we want to establish the best, most advanced and most sincere relationship possible with every country and society. Our aim is to establish a ‘generation of peace and cooperation’ around us, starting with our close neighbors.

“WE ARE DELIVERED HEAVY BLOWS”

We extended Turkey’s operational depth from Syria to Iraq. We deal the heaviest blows to the terrorist organization in the regions where they feel safest. In the mountains where terrorists used to roam, now our citizens enjoy the peace of having a picnic with their families without fear of terrorism. Turkey is constantly raising the bar for success not only in the fight against terrorism, but also in the fight against criminal organizations and irregular migration.

The number of irregular migrants apprehended by our Coast Guard reached 245 thousand. The Gendarmerie continues its fight against irregular migration and human smugglers.

HE SAID, “WE DON’T HAVE A CASE LIKE DEFEATING Assad”

Erdogan said in a statement to reporters who were on the plane back from Ukraine last week. “We do not have a problem with defeating Assad or not. If the opposition in Turkey takes the event to such a point, it reveals both the quality and the gram of the opposition. There was a struggle against terrorism with all the steps we are taking in Syria right now, especially with the Russians in that region from the east and west of the Euphrates to the Mediterranean in northern Syria. We continue our fight against terrorism together here. While we do some of these together with the Russians, we carry out some of them with our own soldiers and security forces. I always say, one of the most important traits in democracy is strong opposition. Of course, we do not have a strong opposition. The trouble is here. In other words, there is no news about what is going on in Syria.” he said.
