Poland: We are becoming a growing influence within NATO with the Baltic states

Polish Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau said his country and the Baltic states have become a “growing influence” within the NATO alliance.

Rau, who made evaluations after the “Snow Meeting”, the security policy conference held in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, stated that Poland, Lithuania and the Baltic states constitute the eastern wing of NATO.

Rau stated that the issue of persuading the German government to give the Leopard tanks to Ukraine was also on the agenda at the meeting, adding, “There are differences of opinion, but I am optimistic. Poland and the Baltic states are becoming a ‘growing influence’ within the NATO alliance.” used his statements.

Praising the Polish-Lithuanian relations, Rau said, “We speak with one voice on issues such as security, energy and transport. We are politically close.” he said.

It was reported that the conference in Lithuania this year focused on western support to Ukraine.

LEOPARD TANKS

Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak stated that they want the Leopard tanks to be transferred to Ukraine, and that this will help Kiev significantly.

Speaking after the Ukraine Defense Contact Group Meeting at the US Ramstein Air Base in Germany, Blaszczak said that they discussed the transfer of these tanks to Ukraine with the countries that have Leopard tanks within the scope of the meeting.

Noting that Poland already provides military support to Ukraine, Blaszczak said, “We have military agreements with South Korea and the United States. We are gradually modernizing the Polish army.” said.

Emphasizing that they want the Leopard tanks to be transferred to Ukraine, Blaszczak said, “These tanks will help Kiev significantly. Ukraine needs to be supported.” used the phrase.
