Starlink era on smartphones

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has announced that the second-generation Starlink satellites will include cellular antennas. This means that Starlink satellites can now be used in mobile communication as well.

SpaceX, which organized a joint event with T-Mobile, one of the largest mobile operators in the USA, announced that the cellular connection speed to be offered by the new Starlink satellites will be between 2-4 megabits.

The mentioned connection speed will be sufficient for direct use of some messaging applications such as messaging, multimedia messaging (MMS), calling and WhatsApp from mobile devices.

According to the shared information, the cellular connection feature via Starlink satellites will be available throughout the United States. The company plans to start testing the feature next year.
