New era in identity and driver’s license!

It has announced that it has extended the period for renewal of licenses issued before January 1, 2016, until December 31, 2022. It was stated that the renewal of old-style driving licenses should be carried out before the end of 2022 in order to prevent possible penalties.

The Ministry of Interior also warns citizens to renew their driving licenses. An administrative fine will be imposed on those who do not renew their license within the required period.

DEADLINE IS APPROACHING

The deadline for old-style driver’s license holders who obtained a driver’s license before January 1, 2016 is approaching. Until December 31, 2022, the driver’s license is renewed by applying to the civil registration offices and paying a total of 15 TL, the value of which is 13 TL for the valuable paper and 2 TL for the foundation share. The driver’s licenses of people who do not renew their old-style driver’s license within the legal period lose their validity.

THERE ARE FINES

Penal action will be taken against citizens who do not renew their old driving license. According to this; to people who drive with these documents; According to article 39/3 of the Highway Traffic Law, an administrative fine will be applied for the act of ‘driving a vehicle with an expired driver’s license’.

After 31 December 2022, those who apply to renew their old-style driver’s license will not be able to benefit from the replacement fee of 15 TL, they will be able to apply for a new type of driver’s license by paying the necessary fees (driving license fee), valuable paper fee and foundation fee for 2023.

HOW MUCH IS THE EXCHANGE MONEY?

Those who make the appointment must deposit the 15 lira exchange fee (value paper fee) to the tax office directorates, via the virtual pos application or the bank via the ‘ivd.gib.gov.tr’ internet address.

Documents required for application:

-Birth certificate,

– Old driver’s license

A receipt showing that the exchange fee of 15 liras has been deposited in the bank,

-One biometric photograph taken within the last 6 months and a driver’s health report that says ‘becomes a driver’ and obtained free of charge from the family doctor.
