Natural gas move from the neighbor! Attention-grabbing detail of Turkey

Neighboring Bulgaria’s Energy Minister Rosen Hristov stated that negotiations to increase gas supply from Azerbaijan will start next week. In addition, Hristov said that they agreed with Turkey against the shortage in natural gas supply. The energy minister has announced options for securing missing gas volumes for October and beyond.

DETAIL OF TURKEY IN THE REMEDY IN THE NATURAL GAS CRISIS

Making preparations for the winter period, Bulgaria announced that contracts and agreements regarding natural gas supply will be signed. On the other hand, Minister Hristov said, “We were able to agree on a dumping site with Turkey, and this allowed us to accept Cheniere Energy’s offer to supply a tanker of liquefied natural gas for October.” Hristov added that the tanker contains about a third of the country’s monthly consumption. The other third will be supplied from Azerbaijan. Options will be offered for the last third.

DANGEROUS INCREASE

After the deterioration of the supply balance in the energy markets due to the Russia-Ukraine war, many European countries started preparations. Bulgarian Energy Minister Rosen Hristov said, “From now on, we will work towards signing medium-term contracts for consumption in the coming winter period. Pipeline gas is preferred because it provides more reliable supply.” The minister said that there is currently gas on the market, but the upward trend in prices is alarming.
