It is unknown whether the owner of the superyacht was on board at the time.

While those who saw the 150ft super yacht were shocked, it was learned that the yacht named Aria SF was delivered to its owner a month ago. Delivered a month ago to its owner, Paolo Scudieri, the superyacht caught fire at noon on Thursday in Cala Saona, on the west coast of the Mediterranean island of Formentera, just a month after it was delivered.

It was learned that there were nine passengers and seven crew members in the super yacht at the time of the fire, while the evacuation of the people on board was carried out flawlessly by the two Spanish Coast Guard boats that had docked for help. It remains unclear whether the owner of the yacht, Scudieri, was among the rescued.

The fumes could even be seen from Ibiza.

According to people close to the area, the smoke from the giant superyacht, which turned into a ball of fire, could even be seen from the neighboring island of Ibiza. On the other hand, it is known that the owner of the yacht, Scudieri, is the chairman of Gruppo Addler, which was founded by his father Achille in 1956 and produces the interior components of the cars. His net worth is thought to be around £410 million.

Inside that superyacht, there was a swimming pool, five bedrooms and a magnificent gym. The yacht was expected to debut at this year’s Cannes Yachting Festival, but it looks like she’s going to miss that Festival after it burst into flames and capsized.
While it is thought that the yacht, which was later pulled by the Coast Guard, was taken to Ibiza, it was reported that the investigation into the cause of the fire continues.

“All seven crew and nine passengers are safe”

Speaking to the press late on the day of the fire, a spokesman for the Spanish Coast Guard said, “All seven crew and nine passengers are safe. They were put in a police boat. The fire on the yacht was almost extinguished. Two Coast Guard vessels, Salvamar Acrux and Guardamar Concepcion Arenal, were mobilized by our coordination center in Palma, Majorca, after the alarm was set at around 5 pm.
