Maybe I’ll see my daughter for the last time

WALL – Sibel Balaç, who started her death fast on 29 December 2021 with the demand for a fair trial, is not allowed to see her family due to the 48-month visit ban. Balaç’s mother, Nuray Balaç, wants her daughter’s health condition to deteriorate and that this punishment be ended as soon as possible.

Balaç, who wanted to visit his daughter in prison, said, “I appeal to the conscience of the authorities.”

The death fast of former teachers Sibel Balaç and Gökhan Yıldırım in Ankara Sincan Women’s Prison continues. Balaç is on the 244th day of the death fast and Gökhan Yıldırım is on the 238th day. The health conditions of the two prisoners are getting worse day by day. Sibel Balaç’s mother, Nuray Balaç, prepared to go to prison to see her daughter, but was blocked due to the ban on her daughter. Balaç, who said, “Maybe I was going to see my daughter for the last time,” wanted to meet with the prison director, but this request was not fulfilled.

‘I WANT TO SEE MY Daughter’

Nuray Balaç said: “My daughter’s health condition is bad. Her ward friends are helping her. She can’t even take a shower by herself. My daughter called me yesterday and said, ‘Mom, will you come to see me?’ He asked. So I said ‘yes’. I called the prison director several times, but I could not reach him. Although they said they would call me, they did not call. Maybe it was the last time I would see my daughter. Why would they do this to a mother? It always happens to the child of the poor. I appeal to the conscience of the authorities: let alone her fault. I want to see my daughter. Hear a mother’s cry.”
