Famous Spanish novelist Javier Marias, whose books have been translated into 40 languages ​​in more than 60 countries, died in Madrid at the age of 70.

Born in Madrid on September 20, 1951, the author was among the leading Spanish writers of his time with 16 novels.

His last novel, Tomas Nevinson, was published last year.

A member of the Royal Spanish Academy since 2008, Marias was also a fluent writer in French and English. In addition, his articles were published in El Pais as a journalist.
