Ukrainian daily newspaper Pravda reported that Russian journalist Sergey Sreda determined the location of the Wagner base in a message he shared on Telegram on 8 August.

Another pro-Russian war correspondent working under the name Kotenok wrote in Telegram, “One of the Wagner bases in Popasna was hit. Our sources in Donbas confirm this. Probably ‘Himars’. Ukrainian sources report Prigojin’s death, we do not confirm this.”
Himars, which the journalist is talking about, is an advanced US-made missile-launcher cannon system.

THE NUMBER OF DEAD AND INJURED IS UNKNOWN
Ukraine-based claims are that nearly 100 soldiers died in the attack. However, these claims have not yet been accepted by the official authorities.
