Inter Vice President Javier Zanetti, who came to the city to promote the Italian First Football League (Serie A) team Inter’s academy established in Mersin, met with the children studying at the academy.

During the meeting held at Mersin Stadium, Zanetti trained with the children. The children who saw Zanetti in front of them and the parents sitting in the stands experienced great excitement.

After the training, the children competed with each other to take pictures with Zanetti. The legendary football player immortalized the day by taking photos with the children one by one.

“I follow the Turkish League closely”

Making statements after the program, Zanetti said, “The Turkish League is an important league and I follow it closely. Italian coaches Francesco Farioli, Vincenzo Montella and Andrea Pirlo who work in Turkey gain experience. We will watch their performances.” said.

“I’m seeing Emre and Okan”

Noting that he is still in touch with Emre Belözoğlu and Okan Buruk, his former teammates from Inter, Zanetti said in the statement: “We had very good memories at Inter, and we are still in contact with them. I wish them success in Turkey.” said.

Zanetti stated that former Inter football player Mauro Icardi, who transferred from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) to Galatasaray during the summer transfer period, came to a great club. “He is a successful player, but he has just arrived, we cannot say anything at the moment.” he said.

Expressing that they are satisfied with the performance of national football player Hakan Çalhanoğlu, who transferred to Inter last season, Zanetti said: “We are very pleased with Hakan Çalhanoğlu. He plays well. He is a great player, a good person.”
