‘I can never forget the moment they separated me from my mother’

Yazidi cousins ​​Aliya Bercest Naif and Suad Berekat Naif, kidnapped by the terrorist organization ISIS in the Sinjar district of Mosul, Iraq in 2014, cannot forget the painful days they lived in captivity of the terrorist organization that killed their father and kidnapped their relatives.

Aliya and Suad live with their 70-year-old grandmother, Şeme Dero, in the Çemişko Refugee Camp in the Zaho district of Duhok. Yazidi cousins ​​and grandmothers talked about their family experiences after the terrorist organization’s attack on Sinjar.

“THEY SHOT MY FATHER IN FRONT OF MY EYES”

Aliya, from Sinjar’s Giruzeyr district, was only 9 years old when she was kidnapped by ISIS in 2014.

Aliya does not take off her black clothes, which symbolize the dark days she lived, and continues her mourning.

Aliya said that ISIS terrorists surrounded them with four military vehicles on 3 August 2014. “They shot my father in front of my eyes. Then they killed dozens of our relatives in the same way” said.

Aliya stated that since that day, the fear and anger of ISIS has never come out of her, and that that day was a black day that will not be forgotten for a lifetime.

“ISIS ENDED MY CHILDHOOD DREAMS”

Stating that ISIS terrorists tried heavy weapons in front of their eyes, Aliya said that the children were not given food and then all the children were separated from their mothers and taken to another place.

Explaining that she was tortured, tortured and raped at the hands of terrorists, Aliya said:

“No matter what I say, it is not enough to describe the pain I went through. I was able to escape after being sold six times. If you call it salvation. They gave up my hope of living. My two older brothers were doctors. When I grew up, I wanted to go to medical school and become a doctor. ISISfinished my childhood dreams.”

Expressing that she was able to reunite with her family in return for a ransom after the painful days she lived at the hands of ISIS, Aliya said that her only wish was to be reunited with her mother and three siblings living in Germany.

19-year-old Suad Berekat Naif said that his mother and brother were in the hands of ISIS, and that his father was killed by the group. Suad said that after his abduction, ISIS terrorists put him in Badoş Prison near the city of Mosul.

Regarding the painful moments he lived, Suad said:

“It was full of blood and traces of torture. When the coalition forces hit the prison, they were beating us for our silence. Then they took us to Tal Afar and from there they started to sell us in turn.”

“I SENT A VOICE MESSAGE TO MY FAMILY”

Suad stated that he fled to a family when an area they were in was attacked by airstrikes and that he told them what had happened to them.

suad, “They also called my uncle. I texted my uncle and uncle and asked them to save me. They came to Syria and rescued me” he said.

Recalling a memory he had with his mother when ISIS terrorists kidnapped him, Suad continued:

“I can never forget the moment when ISIS separated me from my mother. I will never forget the moment when they took my hands from my mother’s hands. I will always remember that scene. I wish my mother to get rid of it as soon as possible.”

“My ONLY REQUEST BEFORE I DIE…”

The grandmother of Yazidi cousins ​​Aliya and Suad, 70-year-old Sheme Dero, cannot forget the pain ISIS inflicted on her family.

Dero said that when the terrorist organization occupied Sinjar, 50 women gathered in the square. “A girl named Ceylan, whom they wanted to rape, committed suicide there. Ceylan’s brother, who saw this, also lost his mind. Later, he also took his own life.” used the phrases.

Dero, whose 33 relatives, including his children, fell into the hands of the terrorist organization, “Seven people from my family, including my wife and 2 sons, were shot before our eyes. They killed them and they didn’t give their bodies. They don’t even have a grave.” he said.

Dero stated that 10 of his relatives are still missing, and that 10 of his grandchildren, daughters and daughter-in-law have survived from ISIS.

The Yazidi woman said:

“I watch the bodies of my wife and my sons come out of every mass grave that is opened. If their bones are found, we will organize a funeral for them and they will have a grave. After that, I can die with peace of mind. Before I die, my only request is that they deliver the bones of my wife and 2 sons to me. I want to go and pray for them.”

Dero added that he went all the way to Syria to save his daughter-in-laws and grandchildren, and that he followed them for days, adding that they finally saved them by paying money.
