Balıkesir Burhaniye District Governorate banned the Zeytinli Rock Festival, which was planned to be held on 17-21 August 2022 and whose tickets were on sale days before.
In the ban decision published with the signature of Burhaniye District Governor İlyas Memiş, “Considering the intense complaints and grievances made by our citizens, it was not deemed appropriate for public safety and health, public peace and environmental protection” expressions were used.
While music groups and artists reacted to the ban, writer Serhat Halis shared the bans imposed by the AKP in the last 4 months on his social media account after the festival was cancelled.
