Germany said “Turkey”! All time record broken

Citing the data of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM), Daily Sabah reported that sales to Germany in the January-September period reached approximately $14.26 billion with an annual increase of 10.6 percent.

10.2 percent of all goods delivered abroad in the first nine months – especially automotive, apparel, steel and chemical products – went to Germany. In September alone, exports to Germany rose by 18.2 percent to $2 billion.

According to the data, motor vehicle exports to Germany totaled US$3.23 billion in the first nine months, followed by apparel products with US$2.8 billion, and steel and non-ferrous metals with around US$1.6 billion. Sales of chemicals and chemical products and electrical and electronic products were US$1 billion and US$996.3 million, respectively.

Exports of steel and non-ferrous metals increased by approximately $471.5 million compared to last year. According to the data, sales of apparel products increased by $304.3 million, while automotive industry exports increased by $158.8 million.

Germany thus continued to be Turkey’s most important export market, followed by the USA with 10.89 billion USD, an increase of 18.7 percent compared to the previous year. Britain is in third place, importing $9.27 billion worth of Turkish goods in the first nine months.

Italy ranks fourth and fifth with 8.4 billion dollars and Iraq with 7.5 billion dollars. According to the data, exports to these two countries increased by 11.5 percent and 22 percent, respectively, on an annual basis.

Accordingly, Turkey’s overseas sales reached record levels for nine months this year.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, during Chancellor Scholz’s visit to Ankara in March this year, announced that he plans to increase the bilateral trade volume between the two countries to $50 billion.

At the joint press conference he held with Scholz after the meeting, Erdoğan said, “As the two G20 countries, it will be for our mutual benefit to further our economic partnership in the new global order. Germany is Turkey’s most important partner in exports and second in imports.” said. He also emphasized that the bilateral trade volume of the two countries was around 38 billion dollars in 2020, which increased to 41 billion dollars last year.
