What features of ‘Come, Life as It Knows’ led you to take a role in the series?
Ayşe Kırca: It is very valuable for me to work with such a strong script from Gani Müjde, a production like BKM whose vision and working discipline I like very much. One of the biggest pluses of my character ‘Yeliz’ was her perspective on life, her idealistic stance, and the hand extended to young people in their steps towards their future.

Melisa Bostancioglu: As a newly graduated actor, it was a great chance for me to be involved in a production like BKM and also to be able to work with such a good team. I already think this process has been a great experience for me.

What kind of work do you do before going in front of the camera to portray a character? Did you do standard work for your character in the series or did you work with a different method?
Ayşe Kırca: While studying at university in the USA, I learned many acting techniques. Each of them has their own different work. I think the important thing is for a person to try to learn everything as much as possible, try and blend the points that work best for himself. I made a detailed feature and background study for ‘Yeliz’ based on the scenario and the character analysis given to me. About his own personality and life; I tried to find the closest points to me, Ayşe, it helps me a lot to empathize with this character.

Melisa Bostancioglu: ‘Sevda’ is a very different character from me that I can enjoy playing. Of course, his environment and the environment he grew up in have effects on his becoming who he is. That’s why I didn’t separate it with very sharp lines while working on ‘Sevda’. After all, no human being is too good or too bad. I tried to create reasons within myself without judging the character. Thus, it made me understand the feelings of this character that were different from mine.

‘Come, Life As It Knows’ is a TV series to watch. Because…
Ayşe Kırca: ‘Come, Life As It Knows’ is a TV series to watch. Because it is a project where everyone can find something for themselves, meet many different characters, and follow hopeful lives in search of second chances. I think it will be a series that the audience will follow with excitement, with its bitterness and sweetness.

Melisa Bostancioglu: Because the multi-layered nature of the story took the audience into an unexpected place. Since it is a story with many different themes, I think everyone finds a piece of themselves.

What does acting mean to you?
Ayşe Kırca: Acting is a need for me like breathing and eating. I was born into the theater because of my parents being actors and acting fascinated me from the very first day. I think it’s a very special feeling to have the freedom to express yourself like this, to let other characters come to life in your own body. Each new character brings with it new excitement.

Melisa Bostancioglu: Acting is a field that you constantly examine, and as a result, you discover yourself because of its character. Understanding those characters and introducing them to other people through me is both a fun and a developing process for me. Regardless of the process on stage or in front of the camera, the feeling it gives at the end pushes me to do this job.

From time to time, Generation Z comes to the fore on various occasions. How do you interpret the Z generation?
Ayşe Kırca: I think it is not correct to evaluate a whole generation by generalizing. There are definitely all types of people in every generation, but since the Z generation was born into the internet, I think they can realize many things much earlier. I usually see that they have high self-confidence and are brave, and I like these traits.

Melisa Bostancioglu: As a generation Z, I think it depends on which window we look at. I do not agree with the stereotypical generation Z definitions and generalizations. I don’t think it’s right to put a whole generation in a single mold and evaluate it like that. But it is a fact that we are born into technology and our perspective on life differs.
