EU administration: We take Putin’s threats seriously

President of the European Union (EU) Council Charles Michel and the President of the European Commission Ursula von der LeyenUpon a question at the press conference held at the end of the EU Leaders’ Summit in Prague, Czech Republic, evaluated the statement of US President Joe Biden that the risk of “nuclear apocalypse” was at its highest level since 1962.

Michel said that they do not intend to succumb to Russia’s nuclear threats. Expressing that they heard the threats to use nuclear weapons, Michel reminded that Russia controls Zaporizhia, Europe’s largest nuclear power plant in Ukraine, with 500 soldiers.

“We will not succumb to nuclear threats, we will maintain our composure and we will condemn such irresponsible threats at all times,” Michel said.

EU Commission President von der Leyen said:We take Russian President Vladimir Putin’s words and threats seriously. We will not be blackmailed by any word” he said.

BIDEN’S “NUCLEAR Apocalypse” Interpretation

US President Joe BidenHe said that the risk of “nuclear apocalypse” was at its highest level since the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962.

Stating that Putin was “not kidding” when talking about using tactical nuclear weapons after the mishaps in Ukraine, Biden attributed this to the “poor performance” of the Russian army.

“If things go on like this, there is a direct threat to the use of nuclear weapons for the first time since the Cuban Missile Crisis,” Biden said. “Since Kennedy and the Cuban Missile Crisis, we have not faced the prospect of apocalypse.”
