Biden’s response to Venezuela claim: We are looking at alternatives, we have not decided

WALL – US President Joe Biden said that the decision of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and the OPEC+ group, which consists of some non-OPEC producer countries, to reduce oil production by 2 million barrels a day as of November was disappointing and they were exploring different alternatives.

According to Anadolu Agency’s report, Joe Biden answered journalists’ questions while leaving the White House for a visit to the states of New York and New Jersey.

When asked about the OPEC+ group’s oil decision, Biden said he was disappointed with this decision.

Biden was also reminded of the Wall Street Journal’s news that “The United States will loosen sanctions on Venezuela and will allow the American oil company Chevron to drill in this country.”

Regarding whether Venezuela is an alternative to OPEC+, Biden said, “We are looking at alternatives. We have not made our decision yet.”

When asked if he regretted his visit to Saudi Arabia in July 2022, Biden said, “The main purpose of this trip was not oil. The purpose of this trip was to clarify the positions of the Middle East and Israel.”

When asked if he would meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin as part of the G20 Summit to be held in Indonesia next month, Biden replied, “We’ll wait and see.” (NEWS CENTER)
