The company, which will increase its capacity with an additional line in the production of single cord finishing used in high performance tires with an investment of 7 million dollars, will also make an additional investment of 5 million dollars for the production of polypropylene monofilament fiber synthetic reinforcement of Kratos, its brand operating in the construction reinforcement business.

Within the scope of the Tekkord Finishing Line Expansion project, which started in Turkey in the third quarter of 2022, Kordsa’s second single-cord finishing unit, which was decided to invest, automotive will play an important role in responding to the innovative raw material needs of the industry. This investment of Kordsa, which produces special quality yarn for Tekkord product, is expected to be commissioned in the first quarter of 2024.

Capacity increase in synthetic fiber reinforcement line

The polypropylene monofilament synthetic fiber reinforcement line commissioned by Kordsa in the field of construction reinforcement at its factory in Izmit, on the other hand, continues its uninterrupted production since 2018. In line with its growth strategies in the construction reinforcement industry, the company decided to invest in a new line of 5 million dollars, which will double the production capacity at the facility in order to maintain its leadership in the Turkish market and seize the opportunities in export markets. It is planned that Kordsa will commission this investment in the Izmit facilities in the first quarter of 2024.

Kordsa decided to invest 7,000 tons of polyester yarn in its Izmit production facility in the second quarter of the year. After the investment planned for a total of 9.8 million dollars, the company will carry the production of new generation polyester yarn products to a stronger position with the new line investment. The line is planned to be commissioned in the third quarter of 2024.
