The Regulation on the Amendment of the Highway Traffic Regulation entered into force after being published in the Official Gazette on 16 August 2022. The critical changes made in the traffic rules with the prepared regulation are as follows:

CHILD SEAT BELT OBLIGATION

The three-point seat belt, as it is known in the public, is used in all seats of M1 class cars, M1G and N1G class off-road vehicles, N1, N2, N3 class pickup trucks, trucks and tow trucks, M2 and M3 class minibuses and buses, at least 1 in taxis, intercity passenger In passenger buses carrying and using seat belts within the scope of this article, it is obligatory to have and use “Child Restraint System” at least 1/10 of the total number of seats.

It is also stated in the regulation that vehicles without belts cannot move. provision has been added.

GOGGLES MANDATORY FOR ENGINEERS

While scooters and electric bicycles were included in the Traffic Regulation, a regulation was also made regarding motorcycles.

In the current situation, besides the helmet, which is obligatory for motor bike, bicycle and electric bicycle drivers, “colored or colorless glasses” that will “protect the eye against external influences, will not hinder vision, and will not impair normal vision” have also become mandatory. However, there is an exception to this rule for those who have safety glasses on their helmets.

PHOSPHORUS VEST IS MANDATORY

With the regulation, bicycle, electric bicycle, electric scooter, motor bike and motorcycle drivers and passengers were obliged to wear a “reflective vest” or similar clothing “to make them visible at night”.
