Accordingly, the Central Bank has also reduced the interest rates applied by banks to their customers’ credit cards and overdraft accounts after the benchmark interest rate they lowered last month.
In the statement made by the Central Bank, as of October 1, the maximum interest rates to be applied for credit card transactions were determined as 1.63 in the name of Turkish Lira. While these figures were applied as 1.73 percent last month, the credit card default interest was reduced from 2.03 percent to 1.93 percent.

In Turkey, interest rates will now be valid for credit deposit accounts offered by banks to their customers. As of this month, the monthly interest rates in overdraft accounts, which are called additional accounts and additional money for citizens, were announced as 1.93 percent.
