Nirvana wins ‘Nevermind’ album cover case

Spencer Elden’s application was rejected by a US judge, who filed a lawsuit on the grounds that his nude photo as a baby was used on the cover of Nirvana’s 1991 album ‘Nevermind’.

The judge stated that Elden’s application, which claimed that the use of his photograph constituted the crime of “sexual abuse”, could not be accepted due to the statute of limitations.

DEMANDED COMPENSATION

According to the news reported by BBC TurkishElden was lying on the album cover, naked in a pool, on a hooked dollar bill. Elden demanded a compensation of 150 thousand dollars in 2021 on the grounds that she could not consent to such a photo at that age, and claimed that she was stressed because of this photo. After the application was rejected, Elden submitted a new application in January.

Elden’s parents were paid $200 for the photo.

Among the defendants are photographer Kirk Weddle, former Nirvana members Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic, and the wife of Kurt Cobain, who committed suicide, Courtney Love.
