Many people who closely follow the economic developments were looking forward to the September inflation data. The inflation rate announced by Turkstat at the beginning of each month has been determined. So, what was the inflation rate, what percentage?

HOW MUCH WAS THE INFLATION RATE IN SEPTEMBER?

Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) announced the inflation figures for September 2022.

According to this; Inflation increased by 3.08 percent on a monthly basis in September and became 83.45 percent on an annual basis.

In September, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by 3.08 percent and the Domestic Producer Price Index (D-PPI) increased by 4.78 percent on a monthly basis. Annual inflation was recorded as 83.45 percent in consumer prices and 151.5 percent in domestic producer prices.

According to the data of the Turkish Statistical Institute, as of September, when 12-month averages are taken into account, consumer prices increased by 59.91 percent and domestic producer prices by 114.02 percent.

On a monthly basis, CPI increased by 3.08 percent and D-PPI increased by 4.78 percent.

CPI increased by 52.4 percent in September compared to December of last year and by 83.45 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.

D-PPI, on the other hand, increased by 82.45 percent compared to December 2021 and increased by 151.5 percent compared to September last year.

WHAT WAS THE ECONOMISTS’ INFLATION EXPECTATIONS?

Economists participating in the AA Finans Inflation Expectation Survey predicted that the CPI would increase by 3.53 percent in September.

According to this average, it was calculated that annual inflation would rise to 84.26 percent in September.

AUGUST INLINATION NUMBERS

While inflation increased by 1.46 percent on a monthly basis in August, it became 80.21 percent on an annual basis.

According to the data of the Turkish Statistical Institute, consumer prices increased by 54.69 percent and domestic producer prices increased by 105.39 percent, considering the 12-month averages as of August. On a monthly basis, CPI increased by 1.46 percent and D-PPI increased by 2.41 percent.

CPI increased by 47.85 percent in August compared to December last year, and by 80.21 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.

D-PPI, on the other hand, increased by 74.13 percent compared to December 2021 and increased by 143.75 percent compared to August last year.
