Warning to users from WhatsApp: The application will be stopped on some phones

Messaging app WhatsApp has announced that it will no longer be able to access the app on some phone models.

WhatsApp has reported that older phones will no longer support the app as new and updated versions of the devices are released every year.

It was stated that as of December 31, 49 smartphone models will no longer be able to access WhatsApp.

A WhatsApp spokesperson said: “To keep up with the latest in technology, we routinely stop supporting older operating systems to divert our resources towards supporting the latest. If we stop supporting your operating system, you will be prompted and reminded several times to upgrade your device to continue using WhatsApp.” said.
