Valencia’s home country Ecuador could be expelled from World Cup

Enner Valencia was in danger of not playing in the World Cup.

According to the news of the Daily Mail; It was claimed that 23-year-old Byron Castillo was able to play in the Ecuadorian National Team thanks to the arrangement of a fake birth certificate.

In the documents published in the Daily Mail, it was informed that he admitted that he was born in Colombia in the audio recordings stated to belong to Castillo.

Played with date of birth

It was also recorded that, contrary to the documents, Castillo was born in 1995, not 1998, his full name is Byron David Castillo Segura, not Byron Javier Castillo Segura, and confessed that he had received help from an Ecuadorian businessman to prepare false documents.

Another claim was that although Ecuadorian Football Federation was aware of this situation, it preferred to cover up the situation.

FIFA can export

In FIFA’s decision, Ecuador’s expulsion from the World Cup, in which Fenerbahce Enner Valencia wears the jersey, will also be on the agenda.

If the expulsion occurs, Chile, which finished the World Cup qualifying group just below Ecuador, will be included in the tournament.

Finishing the qualifiers in seventh place, Chile will have a chance to qualify for the World Cup if Castillo’s matches are voided.
