While Turkish football is going through a critical corner, the big 4 continue to lose value. Fenerbahçe, Beşiktaş, Galatasaray and Trabzonspor lost a total of 1.7 billion liras last season.
The losses of Beşiktaş, Fenerbahçe, Galatasaray and Trabzonspor, which are known as the “big four” in Turkish football, have become clear in the past season.
According to the notifications made by the four clubs to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP), Beşiktaş was the club that announced the most loss with 716.8 million liras.
The black-and-white club is followed by Galatasaray with a loss of 377.5 million liras. Trabzonspor announced a loss of 335.2 million liras, even though they completed the last season as champions. Fenerbahçe’s loss is 295.4 million liras.
Debts of associations to companies
Although these four clubs/companies record various amounts of interest income from their affiliates (Association or affiliated companies) to their annual income in their financial statements, it is stated in the independent auditor’s reports that this income is not collected and there is no opinion about the collection. The interest amounts accrued by the companies to their subsidiaries are as follows:
Fenerbahce, 540.1 million liras to the club association
Galatasaray, 381.4 million liras to the club association
Beşiktaş, 309.1 million liras to the club association
Trabzonspor, Football AŞ 203.1 million liras
In the light of these data, a periodic loss of 1 billion 25 million liras for Beşiktaş, 838.5 million liras for Fenerbahçe, 758.9 million liras for Galatasaray and 538.3 million liras for Trabzonspor emerges.
Fenerbahçe club is the most indebted club
The total debt of the listed companies of the four clubs, excluding the association account/debt, reached 16.27 billion liras.
While Fenerbahçe is the most indebted club with 4.91 billion liras, Beşiktaş is in second place with 4.78 billion liras. Galatasaray has 4.18 billion liras in debt, Trabzonspor has 2.4 billion liras in debt.
