The Under-19 World Beach Volleyball Championship has begun

The World Under-19 Beach Volleyball Championship, organized by Southwest Sports (SWS) in cooperation with the Turkish Volleyball Federation (TVF), İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, Dikili Municipality and the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB), started with the qualifying matches at the Sadi Erdem Beach Sports Facility. given.

Teams from 43 countries participated in the championship, men and women.

In the organization, Turkey is represented by the Beach Volleyball National Teams consisting of Sacit Kurt-Ahmet Can Tür and Bahadır Utku Kesgin-Furkan Ramazan Kaplan in men, and Ecem Aksoy-Doğa Öcal and Su Nowm-Ceylin Sayar in women.

Men’s National Team Coach Bilal Tanrıverdi told AA correspondent that the tournament will be a good experience for the players.

Stating that there are sufficient facilities for beach volleyball, Tanrıverdi said, “We can reach more successful points if we attract children to these facilities and bring them to beach volleyball. We came 9th in the European Championship. We are upset, but we want to be in the top 10 in this championship.” he said.

Expressing that she is happy to take part in the tournament, Ecem Aksoy, a player of the Women’s National Team, said, “Our primary goal is to represent our country in the best possible way and to make it proud. In the championship, which started with the elimination matches of Poland and Ukraine in men and Canada and Poland in women, the teams will struggle to take part in the main table matches.

The organization will end with the final match to be played on September 18.
