WALL – The judge decided to bring Mehmet Ali Erbil by force, who was charged with ‘sexual harassment through electronic communication’, ‘insulting with a voice-written or video message’ and ‘Threatened’ for allegedly threatening Ece Ronay Bilir. .

At the hearing held at the Anadolu 67th Criminal Court of First Instance, the lawyers of the parties were present. Mehmet Ali Erbil’s lawyer stated that his client could not attend the hearing due to his morning sickness, while the complainant Ece Ronay Bilir did not attend the hearing.

The judge adjourned the hearing, deciding to bring the accused Mehmet Ali Erbil by force, despite the duly served notice, and to send a notification to Ece Ronay Bilir’s current address.

Erbil’s elder brother Mustafa Erbil was heard as a witness at the trial. Erbil, who said that he witnessed a phone conversation between his brother and the complainant, said, “I heard that my brother Mehmet Ali received an invitation. I asked how he was going to go. I said go with the driver, it’s a very far place, don’t go alone. When the other party said ‘come alone’, ‘don’t go’. I said, I left there. I have no other knowledge or manners on the subject. After the phone call, Mehmet Ali Bey asked his assistant, “They are calling me, should I go or not,” and he said, “I heard it. I don’t remember how I heard the conversations,” he said.

Nuray Kaya, Mehmet Ali Erbil’s assistant, also testified as a witness, “Madam, she reached out to Mehmet Ali Erbil on Instagram and offered to play in the music video. Mehmet Ali Erbil accepted the offer. The first clip was shot. After the shooting of the second clip, the team had dinner as a team. They invited me. Then they gave up. The lady asked Mehmet Ali Erbil to come alone. I said, ‘Don’t go alone.’ “The defendant said that the complainant called him and took inappropriate photos. So I took the phone and texted him, ‘If you want, come and sleep in my bosom tonight.’ He sent a few more inappropriate photos. The next day, he disclosed the messages,” he said.

When the judge asked who wrote the message, “I want to sleep next to you tonight,” Kaya said, “I wrote this message. He said, ‘Mr. Mehmet Ali, write such a message,’ and I wrote it. The accused requested me to write a message.”


In the indictment prepared by the Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, it was stated that Mehmet Ali Erbil’s messages were insulting in a way that would harm the personal rights of Ece Ronay Bilir, while another message constituted the crime of “threat”. It was demanded that the accused Mehmet Ali Erbil be sentenced to 1 year 11 months 15 days, 8 years and 10 months in prison on charges of ‘Sexual harassment through electronic communication’, ‘Insulting with a voice-written or video message’ and ‘Threatened’.
