Speaking at the Eastern Economic Forum Russia President Putin made statements about Western sanctions and the expected crisis in Europe.
“The West is making short-term decisions on security policy and the economy, the problems are getting bigger,” Putin said.
At the same time, the Russian leader stated that the sanctions affect not only themselves but also the whole world, and said, “Sanctions pose a danger to the whole world, Europe suffers from product shortages, poor countries cannot reach food.”
“WE HAVE NOT STARTED MILITARY OPERATION”
Making statements about Ukraine, Putin said, “We did not start a military operation. We are trying to end what was started in 2014.”
While Putin said that their goal is to help people in Donbas, he added that this step will further strengthen their country.
While Putin said that the West’s attempts to isolate Russia with sanctions had failed, he said that he and the poor countries were deceived by Ukraine.
