President Erdogan’s diplomatic traffic begins: He will not be able to attend the Queen’s funeral

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will come to Uzbekistan to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit.

Erdoğan, who will attend the meeting upon the invitation of the President of Uzbekistan, Şevket Mirziyoyev, will make a series of bilateral contacts within the scope of the summit.

Erdogan, who will come to Samarkand, where the summit will be held, will participate in the tree planting event, will tour the newly built areas of the city, which is also known as the “eternal city”, and meet with other leaders for dinner.

President Erdoğan will attend the opening event of the summit the next day, take part in the family photo and make a speech at the second session of the summit.

TO MEET WITH PUTIN

Erdogan, who will attend the official lunch, is expected to hold a series of bilateral meetings with the heads of state, especially Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping, within the scope of the summit.

It is envisaged that the grain corridor issue will be the main agenda item in President Erdogan’s meeting with Russian President Putin.

Ru, a member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, attended the summit.

CAN’T ATTEND THE QUEEN’S FUNERAL

The Presidents of Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Pakistan, India and Uzbekistan, the observer members of the organization, Belarus, Mongolia and Iran, and the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, invited by the host Uzbekistan President Şevket Mirziyoyev, and representatives of international organizations will also attend.

On the other hand, President Erdoğan, high-level meetings and general meetings within the scope of the 77th General Assembly of the United Nations will go to New York City, USA, between 20-26 September 2022.

It was stated that President Erdoğan will not be able to attend the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, who died at the age of 96, due to her busy schedule. Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu will attend the Queen’s funeral, representing Turkey.
