However, Marin’s entertainment videos met with mixed reactions. Members of the opposition party, especially in his native Finland, accused the prime minister of being irresponsible in times of crisis. While the crisis with Russia continued, Marin’s partying was described as irresponsible.
While the videos were on the agenda in Finland, European countries interpreted the images differently. German magazine Bild praised Marin’s party image, calling him “the coolest politician in the world”.

After Prime Minister Antti Rinne resigned in Finland in December 2019 due to the loss of support from government partners, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) Sanna Marin became the prime minister of the new government.
After the new government was formed and approved by the president, Marin, who was 34 at the time, surpassed the 35-year-old Ukrainian Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk, who held the title of the youngest prime minister in the world.
