Oil gushed out of the region! Everyone is in shock: close to 80 million barrels…

Especially, brother country Azerbaijan, which is the solution to the crisis in energy supply in Europe, obtained crude oil above all times in the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) oil and gas field. In the first half of 2022, 77 million barrels of oil were obtained in the field, where most of the oil and natural gas were extracted.

Azerbaijan reported that the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) field block reached 77 million barrels in total oil and natural gas production as of the first half of 2022. In the January-June period, the total production in the field block was 424 thousand barrels per day. Of this, 25 thousand b/g Cirali, 108 thousand b/d Central Azeri, 109 thousand b/d Western Azeri, 62 thousand b/d Eastern Azeri, 78 thousand b/d and 42 thousand b/d West Cirali formed b/g.

At the end of six months, oil was produced in 136 wells, water was injected in 37 wells and natural gas was injected in eight wells. In addition, ACG has completed eight oil production wells.

oil is gushing

During the reporting period, ACG delivered 2 billion cubic meters or an average of 9 million cubic meters of ACG-connected natural gas per day to the Azerbaijan province and SOCAR’s Oil Rocks facility, primarily the Sangachal Terminal. The remaining associated gas produced was re-injected to maintain reservoir pressure. The company spent approximately $229 million in operating expenses and $791 million in capital expenditures on ACG operations.

As part of the ACG annual work program, a planned maintenance program (return -TAR) was successfully implemented in the second quarter on the Eastern Azerbaijani platform. According to the plan, production from the East Azeri platform was interrupted for approximately 15 days in order to carry out maintenance, inspection and project work efficiently. Designed to maintain the platform’s long-term safe, reliable and environmentally sound production capability, the program was completed safely and on time.

ACE project achieved 75 percent progress miles

The Chirag Gas Elevator Project (CGLP) was also completed safely and within budget in the second quarter of 2022. In addition, the Azeri Central East (ACE) project, along with other activities carried out by bp, has progressed according to plan. By the end of the second quarter of 2022, the ACE project has reached the 75 percent progress milestone.

BP opened its first office in Baku in June 1992 and has since contributed to Azerbaijan’s oil and gas sector with projects such as Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG), Shah Deniz, Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) and South Caucasus. The contract for the development of the ACG oil fields was signed on September 20, 1994 and entered into force in December. The development contract of the ACG block was extended to 2050 in September 2017.
