Nuclear war risk at highest level since 1962
US President Joe Biden made important statements at the Democratic Party’s fundraising night in New York.
Biden, on the possibility of Russian President Vladimir Putin using nuclear weapons in the war in Ukraine, said, “Putin is a man I know quite well. He is not kidding when he talks about the use of nuclear, biological or chemical weapons,” he said.
Biden said the risk of nuclear war in the world was this high for the first time since the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis.
Biden, using the expression “armageddon”, which means the great war that will be fought when the world comes to an end, said, “Since the Kennedy and Cuban missile crisis, we have not faced the possibility of Armageddon. Putin’s threat is real because his army has underperformed significantly. “I don’t think there would be such a thing as a tactical nuclear weapon being used easily and not eventually resulting in Armageddon,” he said.
“We’re trying to figure out what Putin’s way out is,” Biden said. Where does he find his way out? It is losing not only its credibility, but also its significant strength.”

ABOUT THE CUBA MISSILE CRISIS
The Cuban Missile Crisis began with the US placing nuclear warheads in Turkey and Italy, and the USSR in Cuba; It refers to the period that brought the two superpowers of the period against each other in October 1962 and left the world under the threat of nuclear war.

PUTIN’S NUCLEAR THREAT
In his address to the nation last month, Russian leader Putin stated that Western countries and the Kyiv administration have often threatened them with nuclear attacks, including bombing the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant.
Putin said, “They blackmailed us. I would like to remind those who allow such statements about Russia that our country also has various methods of destruction and that some of its components are more modern than those of NATO countries. We will of course use all the means we can to protect our country and our people. The West does not destroy our country. The West does not want Russia-Ukraine peace. They divided the USSR at the time, now it’s Russia’s turn. Our goal is to liberate Donbass. We will use all kinds of weapons to protect our territorial integrity. I say to the West, we have a large number of weapons to respond “This is not a bluff.”
