Montella: “Congratulations to my team that didn’t give up”

Adana Demirspor’s coach, Vincenzo Montella, who drew 1-1 with Atakaş Hatayspor in the 5th week of Spor Toto Super League, congratulated his team for their fight.

At the press conference held after the match at the Yeni Hatay Stadium, Montella stated that his team struggled without giving up until the end of the match.

Expressing that he was not satisfied with the football they showed in the first half of the match, Montella said:

“I would like to congratulate my team for the effort they showed without giving up, reflecting the team spirit. I am not at all happy with the football we played in the first half. Because we tried to establish the game with one or two more players. Actually, we never do this. That’s why our connections were a little different and We gave the opponent a lot of space in the central area. Actually, we allowed the transition game as they liked. Despite everything, we found two very clear chances after conceding a goal in the first half, but we missed it. Technically, I can say about the second half, we showed continuity. We did not pull ourselves back in any way “We tried to achieve the score we wanted. We continued patiently until the end. That’s why I congratulate my players for showing this continuity and team play.”
