TV8’s most popular flavor competition Masterchef has started its 5th season with the phenomenon judges. Mehmet Yalçınkaya was one of the names that kept his place in the jury seat this season. Mehmet Chief, originally from Bolu, is 48 years old. Mehmet Yalçınkaya was born in 1974 in Bolu. He worked as Gastronomy and Culinary Coordinator in different parts of the world such as France, Italy, Qatar, Germany and Greece. He also worked as the kitchen chef of many hotels and restaurants in Bodrum and Istanbul in Turkey.

Mehmet Yalçınkaya, who started his professional career as soon as he finished his secondary education in 1988, took charge in high-level facilities in Turkey. In 2004, he received training on human anatomy and the digestive system at the Istanbul Food Academy.

In 2005, his biography and specialties were published as Trend Chef in America’s famous gourmet magazine “Culinary”. In 2007, a biography of the specials was published on the website of the same magazine.

Mehmet Yalçınkaya won the bronze medal in the 2008 ‘Ika Olimpiyade Der Köche A’ category held every four years in Erfurt, Germany, and became the third in the world.

He won medals, plaques and certificates in various fairs, festivals and competitions related to Turkish cuisine. He still represents our country in international cooking competitions. He is one of the first chefs in Turkey to apply the “Fusion Kitchen” movement, which is the meeting of different tastes, as a result of his studies.

Yalçınkaya developed the personalized service concept, which is a minimalist and boutique work in Banquet services, for the first time in Turkey in 2007.

Mehmet Yalçınkaya founded the Euroturkchefs Culinary Team in 2008. He was the captain of the team competing in international competitions.

In 2009, with a special request, he went on a world tour with Qatar Prime Ministry Residences and a private yacht (Al Mırgab). During his studies there, he worked in Italy and France with the French Carlos Marshal, Chef with 1 Michelin star, in the residences of the Prime Ministry of Qatar.

In 2010, he held gastronomy workshops within the body of Heds Group / Republic of Turkey Ministry of Tourism, and also gave gala dinners for many international organizations including Berlin Film Festival, Grune Woche ITB Tourism Fair.

In 2012, as the Director of Turculina Team of the Turkish Chefs Federation, he came second in the World Chefs Olympics.

He is currently a jury member with Danilo Zanna and Somer Sivrioğlu in the competition program MasterChef Turkey, which is broadcast on TV8 screens.
